Life & Health Insurance
While you can’t necessarily predict what will happen and when, it’s important to have the proper safeguards in place so that when something does occur, you have protection to keep you and those you love most safe.
Group Health Insurance
Group Health Insurance is offered by employers to employees to attract and retain their workforce. Group Benefit plans combine health insurance alongside dental, disability, life, vision and voluntary benefits.
Depending on the size of the employer, some group plans will offer different levels of benefits recognizing that one size does not fit all. Optional ways of funding can be included such as setting up an HSA or HRA to balance the overall cost of a plan. Hospital and Provider networks are included to help manage costs and minimize the employees out of pocket exposure.
Individual Life Insurance
You have a responsibility to provide protection for your loved ones. Life Insurance is the cornerstone of a sound financial plan. Individual Life Insurance helps give you and your family peace of mind. It can be used as a vehicle to replace your income, pay final expenses and create a source of savings for your dependents.
Types of coverage include term insurance, universal life, whole life, and variable coverage, each of which have their own specifications which can be tailored to your individual needs. Whether you are in your 20s and just getting started, or you’re over 60 and planning for retirement, it’s not too early or too late to start planning.
Medicare Supplement Insurance
Medicare Supplement Insurance, also known as Medigap, is sold by private insurance companies and helps to fill “gaps” in Medicare coverage. It helps pay for most medical supplies and services that is not paid for by Medicare including copayments, coinsurance and deductibles.
Medicare Advantage Plans provide complete coverage with an insurance company that permits members to select a network of providers. Most of these programs offer prescription drug coverage, dental, vision and hearing options.
As you approach your retirement date or age 65, understanding the Medicare process and your options is extremely important.
Individual Health Insurance
Individual Health Insurance can be purchased for you or your family if you are unable to get coverage through your employer, you are self-employed or unable to get affordable coverage. Job loss or furlough due to COVID would be a qualifying event that would allow you to consider an Individual Health Insurance plan. You might view this as a temporary fix or long term solution for your health insurance needs. This option allows you to select the plan you want based upon your criteria and selection of hospitals and doctors that you require.
Some individuals may qualify for premium assistance for their Individual Health Insurance plans. These plans are available through the state websites and will address the affordability and subsidy of the plan.
Individual Dental & Vision Insurance
Individual Dental and Vision plans are now readily available from many of the top national carriers. You can select a traditional insurance plan or a simple discount program. Plans available include everything from Dental checkups and Routine Vision exams to full comprehensive and expanded benefit schedules.
